New York Medical College Clinical Skills Training Center, Disaster Medicine Center, and iBio Incubator

Ellenzweig provided programming and design through construction administration services for a new clinical skills training center, Center for Disaster Medicine, and biotechnology incubator within an existing two-story building.

 

The state-of-the-art simulation/clinical skills training center provides a controlled environment for teaching, observing, and assessing a variety of healthcare-related skills necessary in the training of students, physicians, and other healthcare professionals. The center contains 20 exam rooms for interactions with “standardized patients,” four large simulation rooms for use with medical manikins with associated control rooms, virtual reality suite, de-brief rooms, bed lab, classroom, lockers area, central control room, standardized patient lounge, dedicated server room, and staff offices. The suite also contains spaces dedicated to the Center for Disaster Medicine, including a 100-person lecture hall/training room, CDM/Biotech conference room, building lobby/lounge areas, and a GIS lab and a disease modeling lab.

 

The biotechnology incubator provides research labs and office space for private-sector R&D firms.
